UIL University Interscholastic League Protocols Following Texas Education Agency Guidance and Governor Greg Abbots Executive order GA-29 LINGLEVILLE SCHOOL BASKETBALL TICKETING PLAN 2020-21 According to UIL rules, schools may allow spectators to attend games, contests or events within a maximum 50% capacity limitation, provided that appropriate spacing between spectators is maintained according to the protocol and according to the following: • Schools and/or host sites should post visible signs and/or messaging stating any individuals who are confirmed to have, suspected of having, are experiencing symptoms of, or have been in close contact with an individual who has been confirmed to have COVID-19 should not enter the facility. • Spectators, audiences, fans and media are required to wear face coverings as described in Executive Order GA-29. Every person in Texas shall wear a face covering over the nose and mouth when inside a commercial entity or other building or space open to the public, or when in an outdoor public space, wherever it is not feasible to maintain six feet of social distancing from another person not in the same household. o For the purposes of this document, face coverings include non-medical grade disposable masks, cloth face coverings (over the nose and mouth) or full-face shields to protect eyes, nose and mouth. o All employees, parents, visitors and students ten years of age or older must wear face coverings or face shields upon entry to an area where UIL activities are being conducted and when not actively practicing or playing in the contest, unless an exception listed below applies.  Exceptions to the wearing of face coverings or face shields include: • Any person with a medical condition or disability that prevents wearing a face covering; • While a person is consuming food or drink; or • Any other reason or circumstance indicated in Executive Order GA-29 • Face coverings are required to be worn by all spectators at all times while indoors. • UIL guidelines state that face coverings must be worn by all team personnel (coaches, managers, players not in the game) while on the bench or not actively participating in the game or warm-ups. • Spectator groups should maintain at least six feet of distance from other groups at all times. A group is defined as no more than 10 people, including the members of the household and those persons who traveled together to the facility. • Schools should not allow seating in consecutive rows. • All visitors must be screened to determine if they themselves have COVID-19 symptoms or are lab-confirmed with COVID-19 before they are allowed access to areas where UIL activities are being conducted. • To ensure Lingleville ISD is in compliance with the maximum 50% capacity limitation, all tickets for high school basketball games will require vouchers and will only be available prior to game time and at the designated times listed below. 100 vouchers will be available for home games. Vouchers will be paid for at the gate when arriving at the gym for the game, home or away. Voucher availability for away games will vary depending on host gym capacity. Voucher information is below. TUESDAY GAMES Monday Participants (basketball) may pick up allotted number of vouchers (determined by the capacity of the facility for each game) Students – during high school lunches Parents – Office from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Lingleville Tuesday ISD employees without participating children and non- participating students will be able to get up to 2 vouchers-IF AVAILABLE General public may get up to 2 tickets- IF AVAILABLE Students –during middle school and high school lunches Employees and General Public – Office from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. FRIDAY GAMES Wednesday/Thursday Participants (basketball) may pick up allotted number of vouchers (determined by the capacity of the facility for each game) Students – during high school lunches Parents – Office from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Friday Lingleville ISD employees without participating children and non- participating students will be able to get up to 2 vouchers-IF AVAILABLE General public may get up to 2 tickets- IF AVAILABLE Students –during middle school and high school lunches Employees and General Public – Office from 8:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Lingleville Junior High MONDAY GAMES Friday Participants (basketball) may pick up allotted number of vouchers determined by the capacity of the facility for each game) Students – during Jr high school lunches Parents – Office from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Monday Lingleville ISD employees without participating children and non- participating students will be able to get up to 2 vouchers-IF AVAILABLE General public may get up to 2 tickets- IF AVAILABLE Students –during Jr high school lunches Employees and General Public – Office from 8:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. The number of available tickets listed above will be adjusted for away games in accordance with maximum capacities of the home team’s gym. • Ticket vouchers will be required for entry into all high school basketball games. Vouchers will be paid for at the gate when arriving at the gym for the game, home or away. • Entry fee for all high school games will be $4. Jr high $3 • No passes will be accepted at the gate without a voucher. o All pass holders, including senior citizen pass holders, can present their pass at the time designated for the general public to receive ticket vouchers. o Passes, including senior citizen passes, may not be honored at away games, even with a voucher. o No sports passes will be issued to Lingleville ISD students. o Only Lingleville ISD employees with participating children will be allotted up to two complimentary tickets (home games only) at the designated time listed above. Please help us to be able to continue to enjoy games and student activities and performances by following the rules and abiding by the guidance listed above. Parents must ensure they do not send a student to participate or watch UIL activities if the student has COVID-19 symptoms or is lab-confirmed with COVID-19. Even though schools are required to screen spectators, it is each spectator’s responsibility to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms before arriving at a UIL activity and to ensure they do not enter if they are lab-confirmed with COVID-19. Jr High Basketball games for Monday November 16 will have to be rescheduled for a later date. Bluff Dale has requested this due to quarantine situation at their school.

Initially we were supposed to have a girls and boys game Friday. Evant has cancelled the girls game because they are still in volleyball playoffs. Therefore, we have moved the boys game to 6 pm on Friday. I apologize for any inconvenience, but this is just part of it! Thank you and I look forward to seeing you there to start off the season!!

Lingleville Senior Project Auction will be on Saturday, November 14, 2020 in the School Gymnasium at 7:00 pm. Come out and support these students.

Spook Parade. October 30, 2020. We plan on filming all the student participants and sharing the video on our website for the parents to enjoy. If you object to having your child, as part of the class group, participating in the video please contact the office. The students will participate by class only, not a school wide activity, with each grade level parading through the gym individually for judging and videoing. This way we can have an event for them and stay within the recommended safety measures. Thank you for sharing this fun event with the school.

Make sure the reusable water bottles are brought to school are made of materials that will not break.. Do not bring glass water bottles to school.

October 19, 2020 Staff, parents and students of Lingleville ISD During the most recent required testing for our water system concerning lead content in the water system LISD had one sample location that tested too high. This location was a water fountain in the central building. This was the one test location that exceeded the maximum allowable lead content out of five test locations. The lack of use of the water fountains since spring break was a contributing factor in this happening. Having the water fountains closed due to the COVID-19 restrictions means that your students have not been exposed to the water from this drinking fountain. Tests will be repeated after we flush the water from the lines through the drinking fountains. This will remove any issues that have been caused by inactivity. Thank you., Curtis Haley

Spook Parade will be October 30, 2020. The early out for October 23 has been moved to October 30. The spook parade will be the culminating event of Red Ribbon week. With the safety protocols we have implemented for COVID- 19 it will be different this year. It will be class specific to keep from having a large crowd. The parade will be recorded and will be shared with the parents. We will publish more details soon.

Subject: Remote Learning Offerings Dear Parents and Students, Effective Monday, October 5, 2020, remote learning opportunities are only available to those who have chosen long term (for the six weeks) remote learning, or for those who have been placed in remote learning by the district for quarantine purposes or other health related reasons. Remote learning is no longer an option for day to day choice for our face to face learners. Teachers will be provided with a list of those students who require remote learning. All other students must attend face to face classes daily as required by Texas Education Code 25.085, TEC 25.092, and TEC 25.094. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Dear Parent/Guardian, In keeping with Lingleville I.S.D.’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all student families that a student who was lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 was present on the high school campus on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her. We have completed a case investigation and LISD staff has notified all individuals who were in close contact. Those that were in close contact will remain off campus for 14 days to ensure that they do not have the virus and reduce the chance of spreading the virus. Operations at L.I.S.D. will continue as usual, and we will keep you apprised of further updates. Proper cleaning and disinfecting protocols have been in place and will continue to ensure the safety of all students and staff. While we do not have reason to believe that those who were not in close contact with the infected individual have reason to be concerned, we ask that you, as always, watch for symptoms of COVID-19. If any of these listed are experienced please stay home and follow protocols. Lingleville School is planning on having a Spook Parade for our students this year. We want our students to have this experience of fall and have the opportunity of a fun event. Due to the restrictions placed on schools due to COVID-19 we have to modify the procedures to meet those guidelines. More information will be shared as the details are finalized.

It is with great regret that Lingleville ISD in partnership with LISD Parent Teacher Organization would like to announce the cancellation of the 2020 Lingleville Halloween Carnival. Lingleville ISD Administration reviewed the latest information from the Governor’s office and Texas Education Agency, along with the Back to School Plan that was Board adopted. In addition we communicated with the County Judge, District Emergency Management Coordinator, and the County Health Official, Dr. Moore. After collecting all information and taking recommendations into consideration the decision was made to cancel the event held on the Lingleville ISD Campus. This decision was made with many considerations but ultimately it was the safety of our students, staff and community. The hosting of an activity such as the Halloween Carnival will create exposure to a large crowd that extends beyond our community. We are not willing to expose the families of the District to any threat that could deter us from our goal of safety and the continuation of face to face instruction and UIL competitions. The tradition of our Carnival will be resumed in October 2021. We are working with the senior class to have an auction for their projects in November. More details on this will be published later.

Lingleville ISD Parent/ Guardian; In an effort to promote a safe and healthy environment for students and staff, the District has been working to put in place new health and social distancing protocols in response to COVID-19. It is important for all parents to have a working knowledge of the infectious period of someone with COVID-19. People are infectious before they have symptoms, meaning they could be spreading the disease without even knowing it. Individuals with COVID-19 develop signs and symptoms usually about five days after they're infected, but it can be as delayed up to 14 days. They themselves are able to infect others two days before they get sick, and particularly on the day that they get sick. As long as they have signs and symptoms, they're still able to infect others for at least seven more days. Therefore, it is imperative that parents abide by the following regulations: ● Parents are to screen their child, daily prior to arriving on campus, for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 including: ○ Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit ○ Loss of taste or smell ○ Cough ○ Difficulty breathing ○ Shortness of breath ○ Fatigue ○ Headache ○ Chills ○ Sore throat ○ Congestion or runny nose ○ Shaking or exaggerated shivering ○ Significant muscle pain or ache ○ Diarrhea ○ Nausea or vomiting ● If your child demonstrates any of the above signs or symptoms, they must stay home, and you need to report to the campus nurse the signs or symptoms your child is exhibiting. In the event that your child has a fever, they must be kept home from school until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication. Please do not give fever reducing medication and send your child to school. ● When a parent/guardian is called regarding an ill student at school, the parent/guardian must arrange for their student to be picked up in a timely manner. Please plan accordingly, and have a responsible adult who is willing and available to pick up your child. In the event you need to send someone that is not in your emergency contact list, make sure that you have communicated who the person is with the campus. ● Continuously make sure all contact and emergency contact phone numbers are updated. ● Please put your child’s campus phone number in your contacts on your phone. This will ensure calls from the campus are recognized. ● Students exhibiting signs or symptoms of illness will not, under any circumstance be allowed to walk home, or utilize a ride service. ● The District is asking that parents follow the recommendations set forth by the CDC, Texas State Department of Health Services, and Texas Education Agency’s and have your child wear a face coverings when in a public place, and when developmentally appropriate. If there is a medical condition that prohibits your child from wearing a face covering, please contact the school nurse. I have read, and understand what is being asked of me, and will do my part to help keep me, my family, and our community safe.
