It has been brought to the attention of the district that individuals who have been on campus this week have tested positive for COVID-19. Due to privacy requirements, we cannot release the names of these individuals or any details that may identify them. None of them have been inside a district building since testing positive and will not return until they have met the criteria required to do so.
In accordance with Public Health Guidance released by the Texas Education Agency on August 19, 2021, anyone that was in a classroom, extracurricular activity or afterschool program with test-confirmed COVID-19 individual will be notified by campus administration.
Parents of students who are determined to be close contacts of an individual with COVID-19 may opt to keep their students at home during the recommended stay-at-home period. The current CDC recommendation states the stay-at-home period can end for students experiencing no symptoms on Day 10 after close contact exposure. Parents who opt to send their children to school in the two weeks following exposure are encouraged to closely monitor their children for symptoms.
For precautionary reason, an in accordance with state and national guidance, all persons should monitor their health for signs of symptoms, follow the CDC guidelines for people who have had or may have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and contact their primary care physician if they develop symptoms.
