Dear Parents and Community Members,
As you may be aware, the Texas Legislature passed HB 1481 this summer. This law requires, that the school board of every district in the state “adopt, implement, and ensure the district or school complies with the written policy prohibiting a student from using a personal communication device while on school property during the school day.” Further, this law requires that the board’s policy “establish disciplinary measures to be imposed for violation of the prohibition and may provide for confiscation of the personal communication device.” Personal communication devices are defined by this law as “a telephone, cell phone such as a smartphone or flip phone, tablet, smartwatch, radio device, paging device, or any other electronic device capable of telecommunication or digital communication. The term does not include an electronic device provided to a student by a school district.”
While it is best for students to leave their personal communication devices at home given the new law, should your student elect to bring them on school property, our district has elected to: Require student personal electronic devices be stored in backpacks for the entirety of the school day. “School day” under this statute means first bell to last bell and includes lunch, passing period, pep-rallies, and other times that fall during the regular school day. Electronic devices stored in backpack must be either powered off or on silent throughout the school day. Any device seen, heard or accessed will be confiscated.
Once a device is confiscated, disciplinary consequences will follow with each offense progressing in severity. Devices will only be returned to a parent/guardian at the end of the school day or as otherwise determined appropriate by administration.
Please know that you may still reach your child during the school day by calling the campus front office for urgent needs or emailing the student or classroom teacher on their school email for non-urgent communications. While this will be an adjustment state-wide, many studies show that educational outcomes have improved in districts that have adopted similar policies in past years. We hope to see that happen here and look forward to a great year ahead!

BACK TO SCHOOL INFORMATION: Our first day of school is August 12. Our instructional day is 7:45-3:45 All elementary/JH students will be dropped off and enter the cafeteria. They will remain in the cafeteria until dismissal to class. Please do not drop students off at the office. These doors will not be open for student drop off. HS students may be dropped off and enter through the HS doors at 7:20. They will remain in the foyer until dismissal to class. They may also go from there to the cafeteria if they are eating breakfast. Anyone arriving at school after 7:45 will need to enter through the JH office. No food allowed in classrooms. Please eat before arriving to school, or eat in the cafeteria before being dismissed to class. All students should be in dress code beginning with the first day. Free lunch and breakfast for students will be provided again this year.
The drop off/pick up plan is located on the website, top right, Back to School Info. This will also be available tonight at Meet the Teacher.

¡Esperamos que hayan tenido un verano fantástico! Con el primer día de clases a la vuelta de la esquina y los deportes de otoño, es hora de empezar a preparar la documentación y los exámenes físicos de la UIL para sus atletas antes del primer día de prácticas de otoño. Toda la documentación necesaria de la UIL se puede recoger en la oficina principal de lunes a jueves de 9:00 a. m. a 3:00 p. m., o se les puede enviar una copia por correo electrónico si la solicitan ( gstewart@lingleville.us) si no pueden asistir en ese horario. Los exámenes físicos son obligatorios para todos los atletas que cursan 7.º, 9.º y 11.º grado. Aquí puede consultar todos los horarios de los equipos, la documentación de los atletas y los manuales deportivos para el curso 2025-26, reunirse con cada entrenador y resolver cualquier duda antes del inicio del curso escolar. Lingleville ISD is happy to announce we will continue operating the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast for the 2025-2026 SY. This means LISD will continue to offer free meals to all enrolled LISD students for the 25-26 SY.

The 2024-25 Athletic Awards Banquet recognizing Junior High and High School athletes and Cheer teams will be hosted Tuesday May, 13 in the Cafeteria.
The Lingleville Athletic Booster Club will be offering a meal to be served prior to the LISD JH/HS Athletic Awards Banquet on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. The meal will be served at 5:30 pm, with awards following starting at 6pm.
The meal will be priced by plate and will include 2 beef or chicken fajitas, rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, shredded cheese, a salsa bar, drink, and dessert.
Meal prices are $8 (12 and up) and $5 for children (ages 5-11) when you RSVP by May 5th. Please select Family Member Meal for ages 12 and up and select Sibling Meal for children ages 5-11 as your RSVP.
All LJH and LHS Athletes, Coaches, and LISD Employees will receive a meal compliments of Lingleville Athletic Booster Club. You will need to RSVP for your athlete (Please select Athlete Meal for your RSVP).
