Dear Parent/Guardian, In keeping with Lingleville I.S.D.’s practices to respond to COVID-19, we are notifying all student families that a student who was lab-confirmed to have COVID-19 was present on the high school campus on Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her. We have completed a case investigation and LISD staff has notified all individuals who were in close contact. Those that were in close contact will remain off campus for 14 days to ensure that they do not have the virus and reduce the chance of spreading the virus. Operations at L.I.S.D. will continue as usual, and we will keep you apprised of further updates. Proper cleaning and disinfecting protocols have been in place and will continue to ensure the safety of all students and staff. While we do not have reason to believe that those who were not in close contact with the infected individual have reason to be concerned, we ask that you, as always, watch for symptoms of COVID-19. If any of these listed are experienced please stay home and follow protocols. Lingleville School is planning on having a Spook Parade for our students this year. We want our students to have this experience of fall and have the opportunity of a fun event. Due to the restrictions placed on schools due to COVID-19 we have to modify the procedures to meet those guidelines. More information will be shared as the details are finalized.

It is with great regret that Lingleville ISD in partnership with LISD Parent Teacher Organization would like to announce the cancellation of the 2020 Lingleville Halloween Carnival. Lingleville ISD Administration reviewed the latest information from the Governor’s office and Texas Education Agency, along with the Back to School Plan that was Board adopted. In addition we communicated with the County Judge, District Emergency Management Coordinator, and the County Health Official, Dr. Moore. After collecting all information and taking recommendations into consideration the decision was made to cancel the event held on the Lingleville ISD Campus. This decision was made with many considerations but ultimately it was the safety of our students, staff and community. The hosting of an activity such as the Halloween Carnival will create exposure to a large crowd that extends beyond our community. We are not willing to expose the families of the District to any threat that could deter us from our goal of safety and the continuation of face to face instruction and UIL competitions. The tradition of our Carnival will be resumed in October 2021. We are working with the senior class to have an auction for their projects in November. More details on this will be published later.
Lingleville ISD Parent/ Guardian; In an effort to promote a safe and healthy environment for students and staff, the District has been working to put in place new health and social distancing protocols in response to COVID-19. It is important for all parents to have a working knowledge of the infectious period of someone with COVID-19. People are infectious before they have symptoms, meaning they could be spreading the disease without even knowing it. Individuals with COVID-19 develop signs and symptoms usually about five days after they're infected, but it can be as delayed up to 14 days. They themselves are able to infect others two days before they get sick, and particularly on the day that they get sick. As long as they have signs and symptoms, they're still able to infect others for at least seven more days. Therefore, it is imperative that parents abide by the following regulations: ● Parents are to screen their child, daily prior to arriving on campus, for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 including: ○ Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit ○ Loss of taste or smell ○ Cough ○ Difficulty breathing ○ Shortness of breath ○ Fatigue ○ Headache ○ Chills ○ Sore throat ○ Congestion or runny nose ○ Shaking or exaggerated shivering ○ Significant muscle pain or ache ○ Diarrhea ○ Nausea or vomiting ● If your child demonstrates any of the above signs or symptoms, they must stay home, and you need to report to the campus nurse the signs or symptoms your child is exhibiting. In the event that your child has a fever, they must be kept home from school until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication. Please do not give fever reducing medication and send your child to school. ● When a parent/guardian is called regarding an ill student at school, the parent/guardian must arrange for their student to be picked up in a timely manner. Please plan accordingly, and have a responsible adult who is willing and available to pick up your child. In the event you need to send someone that is not in your emergency contact list, make sure that you have communicated who the person is with the campus. ● Continuously make sure all contact and emergency contact phone numbers are updated. ● Please put your child’s campus phone number in your contacts on your phone. This will ensure calls from the campus are recognized. ● Students exhibiting signs or symptoms of illness will not, under any circumstance be allowed to walk home, or utilize a ride service. ● The District is asking that parents follow the recommendations set forth by the CDC, Texas State Department of Health Services, and Texas Education Agency’s and have your child wear a face coverings when in a public place, and when developmentally appropriate. If there is a medical condition that prohibits your child from wearing a face covering, please contact the school nurse. I have read, and understand what is being asked of me, and will do my part to help keep me, my family, and our community safe.

Volleyball Ticket and Gate Procedure. Reduced Attendance Per UIL COVID Guidelines. In order to attend games you will have to have a color coded ticket prior to entering the building. These tickets will be distributed to the players to give to their parents. Tickets will be given to the players one to two days in advance before the games. The number of tickets that are available depends on the seating available in the respective Gym that the game will be played in. Tickets will be divided equally among the players who are on the team. If a family has tickets they are not going to use they may give them to someone else who wants to attend. All fans are to be wearing masks when not in their seats or within six feet of someone not living in your home. Home and visiting fans are being asked to mingle as little as possible. Please make sure you are wearing your mask when you are within 6 feet of someone not living in your home.
We just wanted to remind everyone that there are new guidelines in place this year regarding attending athletic events. 1. All fans are to be wearing masks when not in their seats or within six feet of someone not living in your home. 2. If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please do not attend the event. 3. Home and visiting fans are being asked to mingle as little as possible. Please make sure you are wearing your mask when you are within 6 feet of someone not living in your home. 4. When the games are over, we ask that you social distance and quickly exit the stadium/gym areas. You will not be allowed on the field/court. 5. The players are being instructed that at the conclusion of the game, they are to go straight to the locker rooms, change, and either leave if we are at home or get on the bus if we are traveling. We would also like to remind you that the UIL and TEA guidelines have been given to all school districts. Lingleville ISD cannot be responsible for how other schools choose to implement or if they choose not to implement them. Lingleville ISD has chosen to implement them to try and keep our students, staff, and community as safe and healthy as possible. We truly appreciate your cooperation as we try to do this.
Face Coverings- Executive Order GA-29 Executive Order GA-29, regarding face coverings, applies to all UIL activities effective July 3, 2020. This includes the 2020-2021 school year. As the public health situation changes, and/or if subsequent Executive Orders are issued by Governor Greg Abbott, these guidelines may be further modified. 1. For the purposes of this document, face coverings include non-medical grade disposable face masks, cloth face coverings (over the nose and mouth), or full-face shields to protect eyes, nose, and mouth. 2. All employees, parents, visitors and students ten years of age or older must wear face coverings or face shields upon entry to an area where UIL activities are being conducted and when not actively practicing or playing in the contest, unless an exception listed below applies. 3. The face coverings requirements do not apply to a school in a county that meets the requirements of paragraph 11 of Executive Order GA-29, unless the local school system chooses to implement these requirements locally. Even in these circumstances, the wearing of face coverings or face shields is strongly encouraged. Exceptions to the wearing of face coverings or face shields include: Any person with a medical condition or disability that prevents wearing a face covering; While a person is consuming food or drink; While the person is in a swimming pool, lake, or similar body of water. When a congregating group of persons maintains at least 6 feet of social distancing; or Any other reason or circumstance indicated under Executive Order GA-29
Spectators, Audiences, Fans and Media Schools may allow spectators to attend games, contests, or events within a maximum 50% capacity limitation, provided that appropriate spacing between spectators is maintained according to the protocol, and according to the following: 1. Spectators, audiences, fans and media are required to wear face coverings as described in Executive Order GA-29. 2. Sites are encouraged to utilize remote ticketing options to help manage capacity limitations within a maximum 50% occupancy. Paper tickets and programming should be minimized to help avoid transferable materials. 3. If possible, set reserved times for entry to avoid mass arrivals. 4. Groups should maintain at least six feet of distance from other groups at all times, including the process of admission and seating. A group is defined as no more than 10 people including the members of the household and those persons who traveled together to the facility. 5. Schools should not allow seating in consecutive rows, and should block off seating to maintain a minimum six feet of distance between groups. 6. Schools should provide hand sanitizing stations and/or hand washing stations at entrances and inside the facility. 7. Schools should limit access to working media providing coverage of the event to ensure protocols are followed. 8. Post-game interviews should be conducted while wearing face coverings and maintaining at least six feet of distance between the interviewer and individual being interviewed.
ATHLETIC EVENT GUIDELINES General Operational Guidelines REQUIRED OF ALL SCHOOLS: TEA requires all school systems to develop a plan for mitigating COVID-19 spread in schools. UIL guidelines require schools to include UIL activities for the 2020-2021 school year as part of this plan and carefully plan for mitigating risk of spread as students and staff participate in them. Schools must post these plans on the homepage of the school website or other easily accessible area of the school website. These plans do not require UIL or TEA approval. Required Screening Required Screening before attending or participating in activities: 1. Before visitors are allowed access to areas where UIL activities are being conducted, school systems must screen all visitors to determine if they themselves have COVID-19 symptoms (as listed in this document) or are lab-confirmed with COVID-19, and if so, they must remain off campus and away from areas where UIL activities are being conducted until they meet the criteria for re-entry as noted below. Additionally, school systems must screen to determine if visitors have had close contact with an individual who is lab-confirmed with COVID-19, and if so they must remain off campus and away from areas where UIL activities are being conducted until the 14-day incubation period has passed. When practical, screening questions could be supplemented with temperature checks of adults.

After careful review, we have determined that the COVID-positive person did not come into close contact with students or staff as defined by TEA and DSHS. Operations at L.I.S.D. will continue as usual, and we will keep you apprised of further updates. Proper cleaning and disinfecting protocols have been in place and will continue to ensure the safety of all students and staff. While we do not have reason to believe that those who were not in close contact with the infected individual have reason to be concerned, we ask that you, as always, watch for symptoms of COVID-19. • Lingleville ISD plans to utilize the school cafeteria as much as possible for student meals. NOTE: parents/visitors are not allowed to attend lunch until further notice. NO OUTSIDE food will be allowed on campus. If a child forgets or fails to bring lunch, it may be provided. • For Pre-K through 2nd grade, parents may determine if masks are developmentally appropriate. At this time, masks remain an option and are not mandated for students in grades Pre- K through 2. LISD will provide face shields to these grades, as developmentally appropriate, to be kept at school and disinfected regularly. • For 3rd through 12th grade students, masks or face coverings are required in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order GA-29 (TEA mandate). • Visitors or older siblings, not on the same campus, are not permitted to walk students inside the school building. • High school athletics bags will be placed in new gym and Junior High athletics bags will be placed in old gym in designated areas. No access to these bags will be allowed during the school day. • Students will need to bring water bottles from home. • Visitors and volunteers will be limited to essential personnel only until further notice. • Students must leave campus by bus or parent pick up immediately following school and may not remain to wait for siblings who are at athletic practices or games. It is preferred they bring it in a disposable bag/container. Pick up procedure Elementary and Jr High Enter the drive by the Church building and proceed around to the Elementary building. Stop by the corner of the awning at the back of the elementary building. There will be a sign for the pick-up point and a staff member to direct traffic during the first week of school. The elementary staff will bring your student(s) to your vehicle to load. Line up single file as we have in the past. After your student is loaded, proceed to the left of the buses to FM 219 to depart. High School Enter the HS parking area using the entry from CR 370 by the CTE building. Proceed down the drive until you reach the marked pick-up point. Line up single file on the road and pick-up your student. Please do not block traffic or sit in line for an extended period of time.
Drop-off procedures Grades Pre-K to 8th. Student drop off begins at 7:30 am. Enter the drive by the Lingleville Baptist Church building and proceed around to the Elementary building. Turn left by the elementary and drive between the elementary and the maintenance buildings. Stop at the ramp between the elementary building and the cafeteria. There will be staff to direct traffic during the first week of school. Staff members will meet you at your vehicle and screen your student(s). Students will remain in the vehicle until health check is complete. After a successful screening, your students will exit your vehicle and proceed down the stairs/ramp, where they will enter the cafeteria building through the teacher workroom door (brown door on the right) to pick up breakfast and go to their classroom. Students who are not eating breakfast will proceed down the ramp and go their respective buildings and classrooms. High School Drop-off. Begins at 7:30 am. Enter the HS parking area using the entry from CR 370 by the CTE building. Proceed down the drive until you are stopped by staff members who will conduct the health screening. Once the students have left the vehicle, parents may exit by driving the designated route as directed by the on duty staff members. Staff members will meet you at your vehicle and screen your student(s). After a successful screening, your students will exit your vehicle and proceed to the front entrance of the High school where they will enter the building. They will be able to pick up breakfast at the concession stand and proceed to their classroom.
